Certified Mitsubishi Electric Ductless & Heat Pump Solutions Across CT
Real Response, Not a Message Service. Transparent Pricing. 5.0-Star Rated.
Losing heat in a Connecticut winter is not a problem that can wait until Monday morning. Whether it is a furnace that will not start, a heat pump stuck in the wrong mode, or a boiler that has gone cold, Express Home Services responds to heating emergencies across Connecticut with the urgency they require. No answering service that takes a message. No callback the next business day. A real response when your home is losing heat.

Not every heating issue needs a same-hour response, but some situations should never wait.
No heat at all, especially in freezing temperatures. If the temperature outside is at or below freezing and your heating system will not run, this is an emergency, both for comfort and for your home’s plumbing. Pipes can freeze and burst within hours once indoor temperatures drop low enough.
A household with young children, elderly residents, or medical needs. Cold homes are dangerous for infants, older adults, and anyone with a respiratory or cardiovascular condition. We prioritize these calls.
A burning smell or visible smoke from the furnace or boiler. Turn the system off at the switch or breaker and call immediately. Do not attempt to diagnose this yourself.
Any smell of gas. If you smell gas near your furnace or boiler, leave the house immediately and call your gas utility first, then call us. Do not turn switches on or off, and do not use a phone inside the house.
A heat pump stuck in cooling mode during winter. If a heat pump-heated home is being cooled instead of warmed during freezing weather, this needs urgent attention.
Strange noises paired with a system that will not stay on. Banging, grinding, or repeated shutdowns paired with no heat output signal a system in real distress, not a wait-and-see situation.
When you call for an emergency, here is what happens. We answer, your call goes to a real person, not an answering service that promises a callback. We ask the right questions, what the system is doing, when it stopped working, whether you smell gas or smoke, and whether anyone in the home has medical needs tied to the cold. We prioritize by urgency, no-heat calls in freezing conditions and households with vulnerable residents move to the front of the schedule. A technician arrives prepared, based on what you describe, we bring the diagnostic tools and likely parts needed for your system type, whether that is a furnace, boiler, or heat pump. We give you a straight answer on-site, what is wrong, what it costs to fix, and how long it will take, before any work begins.
If it is safe to do so: check your thermostat settings and batteries first, a dead thermostat battery is a surprisingly common cause of a “no heat” call. Check the circuit breaker for the furnace, boiler, or heat pump, and any dedicated service switch. Check that the furnace filter is not so clogged it triggered a safety shutoff. Open cabinet doors under sinks on exterior walls to help protect pipes from freezing if the home is losing heat. Let a trickle of water run from a faucet furthest from the water main if extended cold and no heat are both in play, to reduce freezing risk in exposed pipes.
If you smell gas or smoke, skip all of the above, leave the house, and call for help from outside.
